Katerina Panagopoulos – unwaged Advisor to the Prime Minister for the Greek Diaspora

The duties of unwaged Special Advisor to the Prime Minister, Alexis Tsipras, on issues concerning the Greek Diaspora are undertaken by Katerina Nafpliotis – Panagopoulos, according to an announcement from the Prime Minister’s Office.

Katerina Nafpliotis – Panagopoulos is the first Greek woman to receive the 1st European Award “Women and Sport 2012” by the International Olympic Committee in Los Angeles in February 2012. She was awarded the European Citizen Award for the year 2017.

She was the Greek Ambassador to the Council of Europe.

She is the president of the Panhellenic Women’s Sports Association “KALLIPATIRA”.

Katerina Nafpliotis – Panagopoulos is the wife of the ship owner Pericles Panagopoulos, honorary chairman of the Union of Greek Shipowners and President of Magna Marine. She was born in Athens. She studied at the Paul Valery University in Montpellier, France, at the Department of Foreign Literature.
