Maria Menounos

Maria Menounos is a Greek-American journalist, presenter and actor, of Greek origin. Born in Medford, Massachusetts, USA. Her father, Konstantinos, was born in Akovo, Arcadia. At age of 17 he immigrated to Massachusetts, USA.

She participated in the Miss Massachusetts Teen USA beauty contest and won first place.

In 2004 People magazine included her as one of the 50 most beautiful people. She works as a journalist at the NBC Channel on Today Show and Hollywood Show. She has starred in films such as Fantastic Four (2005) and Kickin It Old Skool (2007). Also in 2005 voiced the character Eva Adara in the James Bond video game 007: From Russia with love.

In 2006 she presented the 51st Eurovision Song Contest in Athens.

In 2008 she became the first journalist to interviewe the entirety of Barack Obama’s family.

She has founded the Take Action Hollywood! (TAH!) non-profit organization, which has the task of harnessing the power of media to increase social awareness. She is the diabetes awareness ambassador and has helped substantially improve the lives of those suffering from diabetes. She is also a Special Olympics Ambassador and works closely with the Los Angeles Children’s Hospital.
